Where Can AirDrain Be Used?

AirDrain can support residential, commercial, and recreational artificial turf installations where drainage, airflow or added surface performance is important.

  • Pet Areas and Dog Runs: Helps water and liquid waste move away from the turf, making pet areas easier to rinse and maintain.
  • Playgrounds and Sports Areas: Provides drainage and can contribute to the performance of playground and athletic turf systems.
  • Rooftops, Decks, and Balconies: Creates space for water to flow toward existing drains when turf is installed over a hard surface.
  • Putting Greens and Golf Areas: Provides a consistent drainage layer beneath backyard putting greens, practice areas, and tee lines.
  • Residential and Commercial Landscapes: A practical option for lawns, courtyards, and other areas with challenging drainage conditions.

How to Install AirDrain Beneath Artificial Turf

Installation may vary depending on the project surface and turf system. Before getting started, watch the AirDrain installation video for a helpful overview of the process.

  1. Prepare the surface. Make sure the base is stable, properly graded and directed toward the appropriate drainage points.
  2. Plan the layout. Identify edges, drains, seams, and areas that will require trimming.
  3. Connect the tiles. Lay AirDrain over the prepared surface and snap adjoining tiles together.
  4. Trim as needed. Cut around drains, borders, posts, and irregular edges without blocking water flow.
  5. Install the turf system. Add any specified padding or system components, then install and secure the turf.
  6. Test the drainage. Confirm that water moves through the turf and toward the intended drainage area.
