The American dream usually includes a lush green lawn along with a white picket fence. However, these things are not easy to achieve and maintain. Sometimes you must deal with the yard pests that come with a lush lawn. There are also types of grass that are disease prone and lead to insects destroying your garden. Do not treat the problem with harsh chemicals and instead, install artificial turf to avoid the issues that arise with natural turf altogether.
Most yard pests do their damage under the cover of night. Eventually, you will see brown spots, differences in color, and a general unhealthy appearance of your lawn. Grubs and pill bugs are usually to blame for these types of damage. A temporary fix is to force the creatures out by flooding the area with soapy water for several minutes.
Other lawn pests such as gophers and moles can be even more harmful to real grass. We offer gopher wire to keep these varmints at bay. It will eliminate the mounds of dirt you find when these animals dig through to the surface. Although gophers do not dig through artificial turf, they can create tunnels below the turf and make the surface uneven. This is why it is highly recommended to use a layer of gopher wire before turf installation.
Ants are smaller, but just as problematic as other yard pests. They like to live in grass and build unsightly anthills. Sometimes they will travel from the grass into the house, making even more trouble for homeowners. A short-term solution is to get rid of the anthills by leveling them with a rake or filling them with water. This disturbs the nests causing the ants to look for new homes, but unless you have removed the queen, recurrence is likely. You can also place bait stations around the yard, but this is not ideal for families with pets or children.
Avoid yard pests by upgrading to artificial turf! There would be no need to spend time fighting with insects and creatures that can ruin your beautiful lawn. Artificial turf care takes minimal time and allows you to relax and enjoy the benefits with your family, friends, and pets.
